Soda Bread

Irish Soda Bread - great with a wedge of butter and jam.

  • 300g Wholewheat Flour
  • 50g Oats
  • 120g Natural Yoghurt
  • 165ml Milk
  • 1 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (200°C Fan).
  2. Mix the dry ingredients together, Wholewheat Flour (300g), Oats (50g) and Bicarbonate of Sofa (1 tsp).
  3. Add the milk and the yoghurt to the mix and combine.
  4. Form the mixture into a round disc (it should be tacky, not wet, add more flour if it’s sticky).
  5. Cut a deep cross into the disc and dust with a little flour.
  6. Place on a baking tray or skillet and cook for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and leave to cool before tucking in.
